Brake Care Kit

The essential products you need to ensure effective, squeak free braking when fitting your new brake pads and discs.

This kit consists of:

Brake Cleaner: This should be used to clean inside the caliper when the pads are removed to ensure the pad has clean contact with the caliper, otherwise you can get brake squeal. Also when fitting new discs it should be used to clean off the oil / cutting fluid off the new discs.

500ml of Dot 4 Brake Fluid: It is recommended to change your brake fluid every 2 years or 30,000 mile. Also when fitting new pads and discs you may need to top the fluid up. This is a synthetic brake fluid which exceeds FMVSS116 DOT3, DOT4 and S.A.E J 1703 which can safely be mixed with other brake fluids conforming to these specifications.

Copper Grease: This should be used on the back of new brake pads when fitted into the caliper this acts as a shim and helps keep the pad in contact with the caliper to eliminate brake squeal.

*Some parts are supplied on an exchange basis. On these items, when ordering online an additional fully refundable deposit is charged at the checkout. If ordering by phone, we now have the facility to 'bank' the old unit deposit. Under this scheme you will not be charged the deposit at the time of ordering and have 14 days to return the old unit to us. If the exchange unit is not returned within this time frame the deposit then becomes payable but will be refunded when we do receive your old part. We can even arrange for our couriers to collect your old unit when you have completed the job.
